The 360° square edge optic is supported in the bag by a pair of ergonomically designed Modified “C” style haptics engineered to support and stabilize the lens more than the normal foldable IOL. The optic itself offers a progression from distant vision in the middle, gradually moving outward to a near zone gradually shifting toward another controlled progressive zone thus allowing for good midrange vision. Unlike normal two, three, four or five zone lenses this new lens offers an optic that permits full light penetration to the fovea with none of the usual diffractive lines which rob the patient of valuable lumens or light intensity.
Like the lens, the dioptric “Add” is also progressive depending on the diopters power. It is modified to equal the required +2.0 or +2.5 that most patients need but surgeons can special order lenses up to +5.0 diopters if needed.
